First impressions count. You never get a second chance to make a frist impression. Knowing this, you have only a second at the most to grab someones attention to your profile before they go to the next profile. If they do, it doesn’t mean that you are not worth the time for them to read further. It means that you were unable to accurately grab their attention to who you are.
Let’s look at what it is that first grabs your attention when you see a profile. Think what you notice first. Is it the Headline? Is it the Photo? Is it the first few sentences? Everyone is different but most visitors will notice the Headline and the photos. While we can discuss photos in another article, let’s discuss the Headline here.
Think of matrimonial website headlines as newspaper headlines. The better the headline the more intrigued the reader is and the more likely the reader will be drawn into the article to learn more and read further.
Think of what describes you and can grab the visitors attention.
Some bad examples of Headlines:
1. “Hi, please read more about me”
2. “Hello, I just joined this website”
3. “Salam, looking for a Muslim Husband”
What do you take from these headlines, other then the obvious.. If they do not grab your attention now then it won’t for others.
Some good examples of profile headlines:
1. "Seeking a Soulful Connection: Muslim Professional Seeks Partner for Life's Journey"
2. "In Search of Harmony: Sunni Muslim Seeking Compatible Life Partner"
3. "Faith, Love, and Commitment: Muslim Ready to Find My Other Half"
4. "Embracing Tradition: Muslim Woman Seeks Gentleman for Halal Relationship"
5. "Ready to Write Our Love Story: Sunni Muslimah Seeks Devout Companion"
These headlines aim to convey the desire for a serious, committed relationship within the context of Islamic values and beliefs.
